The Art of Boat Building

‘Fairlie’ is the name of the famous shipyard and spiritual home of the classic yachts designed by William Fife and is the adopted name for the Fairlie restoration programme.
We have been tasked to record, document and interpret several projects in progress in their workshops at the moment. By the end we will have so much material to deal with it's scary thinking about it, everything is so photogenic, and there is so much going on. Chris has been having fun with his pocket dolly, shooting some lovely tracking sequences. The first 'Chapter' in the build of Fairlies' new 55 foot creation will be online very soon.
I have been shooting the re-birth of a very special little boat called St Patrick, the level of craftmanship going into it is just astonishing. We have endeavoured to create a set of images that will do their hard work justice.
Here is an update of a few recent shots.
